We have accepted an invitation to be part of the Barnes Music Festival. The Festival offers a variety of instrumental and choral concerts and other events between the 11 – 26 March. We are at the lighter end of the scale with a performance of songs from musicals. The performance will be an hour long. It will be a semi staged concert.
Carole has agreed to be the MD and Helen, Emma and Susi, will be involved in the rehearsals over the weeks leading up to the performance. Bob will be overseeing the project.
The theme of the Festival is Music and Place. We have some ideas of songs that may be appropriate. Most will be solos and duets but there will be one or two ensemble numbers. We could make it easy be choosing songs from our recent shows. In the preliminary list, however, there are songs from Hairspray, 70Girls70, Cowardy Custard, Funny Lady, Jekyll and Hyde and many others.
We need a cast! If you are interested in being involved please let me know as soon as possible by emailing Bob.salter@brostc.org. We need about 12 – ideally as many men as women. The idea is to keep rehearsals to a minimum but to have fun and make an impression upon the Festival Audience.
