I’ve been a member of BROS for over 10 years, joining up after seeing the fabulous production of Singin’ in the Rain at Richmond Theatre in 2004.
The standard of acting, singing and dancing was first rate, and the technical expertise and professionalism in all areas was impressive. I thought it was something I really wanted to be a part of, so I auditioned for the next show, Chess. Now, as membership secretary, I look back over the many shows that I have performed in or watched and been really proud of what BROS TC has produced.
But BROS TC is more than about putting on great shows. The teamwork and collaboration means that you get to feel part of something special. Through the highs (and lows) of the rehearsal period, there are frustrations and difficult moments, but more often than not, lots more banter, fun and laughter. Skills are enhanced and friendships developed. As the rehearsal period draws to a close, the excitement of show week takes over and the actors, musicians, crew and technicians all come together to have an amazing experience.
Our stages – from Hampton Hill to Cornwall
BROS TC performs regularly at Hampton Hill Theatre, and is also fortunate to have the opportunity to put on shows at Richmond Theatre and the wonderful open air Minack Theatre in Cornwall – where we’ll shortly be putting on Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, our latest show. These varied venues allow the company to put on a wide variety of musicals, from small pieces with as little as four cast members to large ensemble pieces from varying eras and styles. If one show isn’t up your street, then the next one may well be.
As well as putting on musicals, we have a busy social calendar, put on workshops to provide members the chance to enhance their skills, and offer discounted trips to West End theatre productions.
