Following the cancellation of It Shoulda Been You the BROS Committee have been working hard to try and figure out the best course of action. We didn’t want to see all the hard work by the cast and production team come to nothing and we know there were lots of people really looking forward to seeing the show.
It’s with that in mind that we’ve decided to change things around a bit. It Shoulda Been You will now take our October slot at Hampton Hill Theatre. Box Office will open after the summer when the situation with Covid-19 is hopefully much improved and we are sure we will be able to go ahead.
So please save the date, 27-31 October and keep your fingers crossed we don’t get jilted a second time!
This does, of course, have a rather devastating impact on our forthcoming production of Cry-Baby which will now sadly not go ahead as planned. However, in our minds, this was the only course of action given the current Covid-19 situation. In addition to our desire to give ISBY a chance to get on stage, there is currently little guarantee the Cry-Baby team would have been able to hold auditions and begin rehearsals in June, leaving the production very much on the back foot in terms of rehearsal time. It was a difficult decision but the Committee and the production team have agreed to investigate potential new dates for Cry-Baby in the future. We appreciate Matt, Martin and Smels’ support and understanding of the situation enormously at this time.
We also realise this decision has an impact on our members, many of whom will have been looking forward to getting back in the groove and back on stage, especially after being cooped up for weeks and months on end! And so, until winter rolls around and Kipps kicks into action, the Committee are thinking up some creative ways the BROS TC Academy can keep our hearts, minds and voices busy. Currently that means online, but hopefully over the summer and beyond we will be able to run some more sociable events for everyone to participate in! We’re still working on this, so keep a look out on social media for announcements and if you think of something you’d like to help organise or run, then drop us a line at committee@brostc.org
We’d like to thank everyone for all their support at this time and hope you and yours stay healthy and happy over the course of the next few weeks.
With lots of love from Helen, Andy and the BROS Committee
